Tips from Jim Beard, PGA Golf Professional
Briarcrest Golf TipsMost putting woes begin with poor alignment. It is difficult to aim the clubhead at the target when you are in the address position. Things can look differently at address than they did standing behind the ball looking down the target line. To help me aim putts more effectively, I began drawing lines on the golf ball to aid with alignment when placing the ball. I feel that it is easier to aim the ball when placing it on the green and then addressing the ball by aiming the putter in accordance with the line on the ball. I am aiming my golf ball before setup. I feel it is a very effective way to aim. The PGA touring pros must think so also, because I see many of them using a line on the ball. Recently, I found a new gadget that draws two parallel lines on the ball with one cross line. I believe that using two parallel lines makes aiming even easier. Stop by the pro shop and let me show you why. Start  aiming your golf ball and lower your putts per round.
